On Med Mal

Evan Schaeffer at Notes from the (Legal) Underground NFTLU has graciously allowed me to be a guest today on his blog.  I talk about how an insurance economist views the med mal crisis.  While not an apologist for the insurance industry, I do have some sympathy for much of the criticism the industry receives over the issue.

On a slightly different, but related line, the actuaries discuss the problem at Actuarial Outpost.  For the timid, do not fear -- there are no equations!  Further there is a mildly amusing diversion about trial lawyers among the interesting views presented (some of which actually show up my NTFLU post).

I suppose that between the (Underground) and the 'Outpost I am operating on the frontiers of the med mal debate today!
