I'm often amused at professors who gripe about how their jobs are so bad. My attitude is, if you have better options, take them. If not, shut the "%!! up.
At least, that's what I think - I'm still untenured, so I keep it to myself.
A friend of mine once said that he thought being a finance prof is the third best job in the world (#1 is professional baseball player, and #2 is rock star).
I agree - I'd actually be willing to do this job for a lot less than my current salary (but don't tell my dean).
