The South Will Rise Again

Mike the Actuary reports on this case involving the last home of Jefferson Davis.  Evidently it was damaged by Katrina and there is a dispute with the insurer.

While I was born in a formerly rebel state and educated in a formerly rebel state (Go Gators), and live in a city destroyed by William Tecumseh. Sherman, I am a damnyankee.  Thus, while I strongly desire property rights and contract rights are respected in the case, I hope this little piece of southern history goes the way of the dodo…. Ok, I don’t really feel that strongly about Jefferson Davis.  I have always wanted to write damnyankee as one word.   Plus, my family didn’t get off the boat until the late 1890s.
