Did you know that insurers release coyotes into deer rich environments to reduce the deer population which in turn will reduce the incidence of negative outcome deer-auto interactions? They don't. (via IJ.)
I guess auto insurance has made it big. It now has its own urban rural legend.
Here's another coyote-deer Urban Legend that you might enjoy - go to http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/coyote.asp .

Man, how do you know this stuff! ha ha.

Not mine -- and I'd hate to be the vet having to "fix" it.
Having loads of spare time (without even being tenured!), I took a few minutes and went to snopes.com (where I often check out internet rumors)and searched . I was hoping to find out that your herd management legend was actually true, but had to settle for passing on the coyote-wolf-dog tale.

There was a great sign outside a PA collision repair shop about two winters ago that said, "Got your deer with the wrong ammo?"
